Today a number of young people from St Paul’s will publicly confirm their Christian faith. This is a significant time of great joy for the community, for families and for the young people. Today we also hear the Apostle Paul write Christians at Thessalonica who were new to the faith and who faced opposition for their faith. Paul rejoices that they have confirmed their faith but also calls them not to become complacent or lazy because faith is an active life long journey of joy. And so it is for us today. How are you growing in your journey with Jesus? [Pentecost 21]
