In Isaiah 55:10–13, Isaiah compares God's Word to rain that quietly transforms dry ground. Though its work is often hidden, God's Word never fails to accomplish its purpose. Fulfilled in Jesus Christ, God's living Word brings forgiveness, hope and new life, sending us into the world to sow seeds of grace with patient trust. [Pentecost 7]
