Divisions can occur in families, even the closest of families and even in Christian
families and the Church. Jesus knew this. His radical way of grace and calling us to pick up our
cross and follow him was a cause of division in families. Jesus assures his disciples that they need
not fear. Rather he calls them and us to be bold in our witness to him and his cross through which
God brings true peace. [Pentecost 4]
