Today we are called to rekindle the fire of faith in our lives and in our church. The apostle Paul writes to his beloved younger protégé, Timothy, the pastor at Ephesus. This is Paul’s passionate will and testament on faith as he faces death. Paul loves Timothy and he loves God’s people. The church is facing opposition from society around it. Paul calls on Timothy to rekindle the fire of faith by teaching and preaching clearly the gospel of Jesus Christ for all people. [Pentecost 17]
