Matthew 1:18-25
What’s in a Name?

Names are important.  They are certainly important to Matthew who wrote the first book of the New Testament.  In the first chapter of this first gospel, Matthew mentions many names.  However, there is one name and one person whose name is above all names, “Jesus”, whose name means “Saviour.”  He fulfils the promise of ages past of the one who is named “Immanuel”, which means ”God is with us”.  Today we explore what an amazing gift the name of Jesus is for us, and for our lives.  [Advent 4]
