In prophesy before he was born, and in the years since then, Jesus has been given many names, like Immanuel ("God with us"), Wonderful Counsellor, and Prince of Peace. But God has given Jesus the name honoured above all other names: in Greek "Jesus", in Hebrew "Joshua", short for 'Jahweh saves', or 'The Lord saves'.
