Meet the CIC Team
Say, what? (It's Vision 2012 implementation)
Coordination, Implementation and Communication Team, or CIC for short — it's a bit of a mouthful, isn't it? The title may be cumbersome, but the brief is simple. Church Council has called us together to provide support and guidance to ministry areas to bring Vision 2012 to life.
Vision 2012 gave us a crystal-clear definition to stand on: In Christ we gather, grow, and go. Clarion calls don't get much louder or plainer than that.
But while this mission statement is simple and to the point, how do we, as a diverse congregation, bring it to fruition? Hopefully this is where CIC team can help by working with Council, Ministry teams and all members to develop tangible actions to turn Vision 2012 into something we do, everyday, to witness Christ to the world.
To start the process, the team, consisting of Tammy Hughes (chair), Jane Glatz, Mark Foster, Kathy Mildred, and Pastor Andrew, has been working with the current ministry areas to determine how our existing programs and activities align with the 2012 vision. 
With no less than 10 Ministry Teams active — Child, Youth, and Family; Cross Cultural; Inside Story; Maintenance; Mercy; Mission; Pastoral Care; Small Groups; Stewardship; and Worship — the CIC team has been busy listening to each team to understand how well equipped they are, what changes they feel need to be made, and how the congregation can help.
Our next step will be to help St Paul's develop its activities for the next few years — which areas to boost, which to change, whose talents to call on, and what resources we need to fulfil Christ's mission to each other, in our region and further afield.
Something else we are keen to do is communicate more of the great things our ministry areas are achieving at St Paul's. There is so much talent here, so many examples of witnessing to our community, yet we are hiding our lights under a bushel at times. No more! Inside Story gives us a fabulous way to celebrate successes and inspire us all, so keep an eye out for articles in future editions.
