Secret Men’s Business
The sound of corks popping, sausages sizzling and men discussing SMB will be heard again this year in the Community Room — yep, Men’s Group is back.
Some people have been asking me what are the purposes of the group. Here’s the answer:
- To provide an opportunity to open up and discuss issues of importance for men (young and older)
- To allow the gospel of Christ to speak into the issues men grapple with
- To facilitate informal support structures — in plain language, to allow friendships to develop!
- To provide another entry point for men into the life of St Paul’s.
So on these nights, we’ll gather in the Community Room (unless otherwise notified) for a chance to talk, eat and drink, be listened to and to talk, as Christian men. We’re a blessedly diverse bunch with a wide range of life experiences and opinions. At the Men’s Group, men can be heard, and are able to express themselves amongst their peers.
Here are the meeting dates this year for you to jot in your diary:
- March2
- April 13
- June 1
- July 13
- August 31 — off site
- October 5
- November 16
We are planning to bring a range of Christian speakers from the realms of Federal politics, the military, and others who can provide social/Christian commentary.
This is a great opportunity to meet and mix with blokes you see in the pews, maybe even share the peace with, but know little about. There are some great stories to be shared. Come and see.
