The Confessions Of St Augustine, St Augustine (Of Hippo)

This is not so much a confession in the sense of Augustine listing out his sins but rather a diary of his journey to conversion; detailing his struggles, thoughts and emotions. He begins with his childhood, then continues to early adulthood, his academic pursuits, and his travels to Carthage, Rome and Milan. He also writes of his mother's (St Monnica) perseverance and his grief when she passed away.
