ChildSafe training soon
- Team members are those involved in any kind of ministry to young people, including pastors, Bible Song helpers, Youth team, and so on. (This includes Junior team members, who are themselves under 18 and help out under adult supervision.) All must attend a Zone training session.
- Team leaders (including planning and administration) must also attend a Zone training session.
- A ChildSafe Coordinator (preferably a member of Church Council) has to be appointed to first collect all the names in the above groups and ensure training, then to assess and authorise annual programs, ensure guidelines are applied, and keep legally-required records. This role could be shared across congregations. The Coordinator must attend a Zone training session and complete some online training. Interested? Please contact Kim Kernich.
Training costs ($20 each) may be met by the congregation. Even accredited teachers in Lutheran schools must complete the training if you are involved in congregational work with young people.
Training times will be organised to meet demand, and announced in the new year. Separate training in the SafePlace scheme will be offered at the same time as a recommended module.
