Seniors' Snippet

In the absence of Pastor Andrew at our July meeting , Neville Thiele provided the opening devotion, using 2 Timothy 1:1-14 as a basis for discussion and a reminder to us of the need to heed the Spirit's calling to speak of our hope in Christ when the opportunity occurs. We should thank our Lord for the people he uses to teach God's Truth.

Donning another hat, as guest speaker Neville gave an informative talk on his recent trip to China with his daughter Merryn. As they were guests of friends and not on a guided tour, they came in contact with more "locals" as they took in the sights of Shanghi and further afield — a wonderful opportunity for Neville to carry a spare pocket-sized copy of the New Testament!

Dawn thanked him for a very interesting talk, accompanied by many photos.

August is 'outing time' for the group, and we are to meet for lunch at the Templestowe Hotel on August 13 at 12 noon. Anyone in need of a ride should ring Dawn on 9895 5182.
