A scary story

The astonishing story of a father preparing to sacrifice his only son is the new theme in Bible Song

Bible Song [July 19, introducing the new theme] was a hit for the young and the old! The day started off with a game for the kids. All the kids who were playing 'catch the ram' with the parachute had fun, but I especially had fun (watching from the sidelines).

The story this week was the sacrifice of Isaac (Genesis 22, 7-8). God told Abraham to take Isaac, his only son, to the top of the 'Mountain of the Lord' and offer him up as a burnt offering. Abraham woke up early the next morning and took Isaac to the 'Mountain of the Lord'. Abraham pulled out the knife he had been carrying, was about to stab Isaac, but then an angel of the Lord told Abraham 'do not lay a hand on the boy'. Abraham turned around and saw there was a ram caught in the bush by its horns and he offered the ram up instead of Isaac.

For me the most funny part of the day was the Ya-Ya-Yahweh boys, HILARIOUS!! Jane got them singing up the front into the microphone!! And the Martin family did the readers' theatre. A special thanks to anyone who prepared the Bible Song lunch. And thanks to Keren Loffler for organizing the day.
