Church CouncilCall processThe Council received an update from the Call Committee, including details of the most recent meeting with President Greg Pietsch. The Pre-Call Meeting and the process leading up to the Call Meeting were discussed. Finance ReportIncome from offerings is currently in line with budget, primarily because expenses are less than budgeted due to savings made on the lease for the manse for the second pastor and associated costs. Council also discussed the cash flow position and how that may be managed. Further work is being undertaken to obtain formal approval for the tax deductibility of donations towards the repayment of the loan for the downstairs rooms. CIC ReportCouncil received and discussed the full report and recommendations from the review of ministry areas conducted by the CIC team. A report about this review will be provided to congregation at the AGM in November. Council adopted the CIC recommendations and is working towards their full implementation. Council commends the CIC team for their excellent and comprehensive work and thanks the members who contributed to the review. GovernanceCouncil continues to discuss information presented at the CIC-led forum, particularly the governance structure of the congregation and how we can better function as a council. Council plans to dedicate a substantial amount of time to discuss this matter fully at the August meeting. Next meetingTuesday August 19. Please forward correspondence to Brett Hausler.
