Brainstorming ideas for the redesign of the Underground Headquarters, as well as new lingo (FROGMA, just won't work anymore). What are your ideas for helping make the youth room and its approach more welcoming and engaging? How might we better use this space as well as make it even more faith inspiring? Bring all the SPY terminology you know too, as we think of names for our newly-forming groups and events. |

International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church The Voice of the Martyrs is calling on Christians worldwide to set aside Nov 9 to pray for Christians living daily under the threat of persecution. These believers risk discrimination, imprisonment, and even death because of their active witness for Jesus Christ. VOM will join hundreds of churches and thousands of individuals in remembering our brothers and sisters suffering around the world. We will watch the DVD put out by Voice of the Martyrs followed by some discussion and much prayer! |

Narcotics Anonymous. Almost every Sunday at noon, a Narcotics Anonymous group meets in the youth room. This Sunday, several of the members will come early to share their story of addiction to drugs and how the programme/ministry of NA has helped and continues to help them. |

The Imam & the Pastor (DVD) At a time when many in the world are wondering whether friendly relations are possible between those of Muslim and Christian backgrounds, Imam Huhammad Ashafa and Pastor James Wuye are living proof that they are. Come and watch their incredible story. (These two men will actually be in Whitehorse Nov 2. See bulletin boards for information on how to hear and see them in person.) [DVD review page 13.] |

The Doxology. The Eternal Creator of the Universe has given us everything we are, see, feel, and possess. From the infinite glory of the cosmos to the love in our hearts, from the pulsing of the countless suns to the pulsing of the blood through our veins, all of this master creation bears witness to the master creator. The God who created the Universe and gave us life and breath calls us to praise God's glory. So, what now? |

2009 Youth Ministry Partners Rendezvous (11am in Youth Room). This is a gathering of all SPY and Adults who are a part of the SPY TEAM for 2009. We will hand out schedules and ministry profiles, and you'll have a chance to meet the other people who are a part of the same ministry area you are in. A time to pray together and set a common vision for the coming new year! |
GIRAFFE SINGAPORE COURSE
The LCA, through the Board for Mission, is supporting a Giraffe course in Singapore 4-22 December 2008, and it is hoped that some young adults from Australia will attend. The Giraffe course covers things like understanding the Bible, discipleship, Christian ethics, ministry skills and how to be the Church in the world. More info or an application package:
