Meeting of 22 October 2008

Retiring members

Council acknowledged the significant contributions made by Lawrence Gebert and Steve Loffler during their time on Council. Both members will be stan­ding down from Council at the Annual General Meeting. Council thanked them for their continuing service to St Paul's.

Caring ministries

Council noted material submitted by Dania Ahern and Rhonda Held out­lining the excellent work being carried out by the ministry teams in the areas of Care & Justice and Mercy Ministry.

2009 budget

Council finalised the draft budget for 2009 for consideration by the congre­gation at the Annual General Meeting. This included taking into account feed­back from the congregation on the expected increase.

Delta Ministries

As indicated in last month's Jottings, Council has been considering a propo­sal to support an apprentice during 2009 in the program undertaken by Delta Ministries. After careful consi­deration, it was decided not to pro­ceed with this proposal during 2009 and to reconsider the matter for 2010.

Pastor reports

Council considered reports from the Pastors covering ministry areas, staff matters, stewardship, and future planning.
