Title: Cosmos
Artist: The Send
Tooth and Nail
The question from the song An Epiphany, "Beyond the moon and endless space/could there be a final place?" touches on a theological point. What cosmologists tell us about the immensity of the cosmos should make us marvel all the more that God comes to us in personal relationship. The need for this relationship in the lonely universe returns periodically in the lyrics of this album from former Falling Up guitarist Joseph Kisselburgh. The Send is a 'band', but it's basically the multi-instrumentalist and vocalist (he has a reasonable Liam Gallagher-like voice) and some drummers. Though it's a typical Tooth and Nail sound, it has a lightness of touch, despite the bursts of loudness, with cascading piano and delicate acoustic guitar, much like the sound of everywhere-man producer Aaron Sprinkle's own music.
