Faith Formation PDF Print E-mail

Three of the key goals at St Paul's are:

  • To faithly preach and teach God's Word in a way that is relevant and meaningful for people's lives;
  • Nurture each person towards maturity in their relationship with Christ;
  • Support our households in faith develpment and mission.

Faith Formation is important at St Paul's!

Faith is nurtured in many ways - including through regular worship, Bible study, service, prayer and Christian fellowship and family life.

We are currently getting a team together to develop some new and exciting ways of encouraging young people and adults all to get involved in faith formation.

Stay tuned for further developments!

Prayer @ St Paul's!

So, what is prayer?

Is it a wish list to God; a sly way of negating personal responsibility; a superstitious check list to ease one‟s conscience; a nice idea if one could only find the time?
Not according to the Scriptures.

Prayer is:
 an act of faith.
 connecting with the way and truth of God.
 interceding on behalf of others.
 waiting on the Lord.
 our souls speaking with God before we even recognize what we are feeling. Thus it is sometimes filled with tears, laughter, anger, joy, discomfort, peace...whatever one‟s heart is bearing.
 a Biblical call with a clear model of Jesus to follow.
 a Christian practise of a disciple of Christ.
 a yearning that can only be satisfied with doing. It is a discipline that unfolds joy.
 an intimacy that breathes life.
 It is being in rhythm with the heart beat of God.

...if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
